- SHINSHIN – Everything to Expect from a Boutique Hotel
Hotel Shinshin was established in 1964 right next to Shinshin Sauna, known as Korea’s first sauna for men.
The hotel reopened in 2013 after a few years of being out of business, ready to re-attract guests with refined facilities and services.
Fortunately, its hard work paid off last year when Shinshin secured TripAdvisor’s first place title for hotels in Seoul.
Hotel Shinshin is located at the heart of Seoul, close to bustling tourist attractions like Namdaemun Market, Myeongdong, and Jongro, where vibrant energy continues all day long. Without disrupting the view, tall buildings surrounding the hotel allow guests to absorb the modern Seoul atmosphere. What’s more, the hotel neighborhood is relatively calm and quiet despite its amazing location. Guests will be able to enjoy their extraordinary experience in Seoul and spend peaceful evenings at Hotel Shinshin.
One of the first things guests might realize is the reception desk located on the basement floor. Separated from the outside noise, the reception area is peaceful and intimate, warmly welcoming the guests. Across from the reception desk, a cozy resting area with complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies can be found. Guests may also use the provided computer and printer to print out tickets, vouchers, and so on. This will come in handy for those who always forget to print things until the very last moment!
Last but not least, Shinshin’s high quality service is also remarkable, supported by its 5 star-hotel staff training.
What do guests generally expect from a boutique hotel ? While expectations may vary from person to person, one may anticipate trendy designs and charming details. At Hotel Shinshin, such stylish taste is notable from the moment one walks into the room. Don’t forget about thoughtful amenities such as the comfortable bathrobe with yellow-striped pockets. The rooms are not extremely spacious, but the pieces of furniture are so well arranged that guests probably won’t feel the need for more space.
Finally, another unique feature in the room is ondol, the Korean floor heating system.
Locals also love Hotel Shinshin for its pleasant bistro dining on the first floor. The bistro serves excellent dishes that are beautifully displayed. When dining downstairs, guests can enjoy their meals while marveling at the open kitchen, where delicious magic happens.
- GRAND AMBASSADOR SEOUL PULLMAN – Outstanding Value
Nestled beneath Namsan, the Grand Ambassador Seoul has been steadfastly providing excellent service to guests over 60 years. It is located in a quiet, green neighborhood near a park that is only a three-minute walk from the hotel. For the first-timers, the Grand Ambassador Seoul offers a guide map for strolls, allowing visitors to take a sneak peek into the daily lives of Seoulites.
From the top floors, guests can enjoy the breathtaking view of the city – a pleasing harmony of the mountains and city buildings.
More importantly, all rooms have been recently renovated top to bottom, not missing a single detail. The hotel now offers higher quality accommodations with artistic design in association with Pullman. Luxurious lounge, sauna, and swimming pool provide guests with the perfect moment of relaxation. As the sauna and the pool are complimentary for all hotel guests, be sure to take a trip downstairs to take full advantage of the amenities. What is also great about the Grand Ambassador Seoul is its sufficient meeting spaces (free usage of 2 hours per room), where special table setting is offered as well.
Grand Ambassador Seoul surely knows how to focus on the details. The hotel’s exclusive service includes the “pillow menu”, which offers seven different choices of pillows for guests’ convenience. Pillow selection ranges from feather, foam, and latex to traditional Korean pillows. A coffee lover? Then the two complimentary Nespresso capsules each day may sound very appealing. For the executive room guests, complimentary shoe cleaning service is offered. Simply place a pair of shoes in the small cabinet by the hallway entrance and comfortably slip into hotel slippers during the wait. For our Muslim’s fellows, Koran and prayer mats are available.
Keeping up with the cutting-edge technology, the Grand Ambassador Seoul recently introduced IoT rooms. IoT (Internet of Things) connects objects to electronic devices (ex. mobile phone) and allows guests to use their electronic devices as remote controllers Imagine waking up in the morning and turning on the light, opening the curtains, and adjusting the room temperature while still buried in the warm, cozy bed. This is a perfect example of how technology enriches lives !
Finally, the hotel houses various restaurants offering Chinese, Japanese, western, halal, and fusion cuisine.
But what is especially outstanding is the lunch box menu at Café de Chef.
These lunch boxes are very convenient for guests needing to catch a morning flight or a bus for sightseeing.
- CAPPUCCINO – Eco-friendly, Ethical, Stylish
What makes a hotel distinct and exclusive ? Although service and quality are important, those are basic elements to be satisfied. The next step involves concept and value, and on that note, Hotel Cappuccino is extremely extraordinary as one of the pioneers of animal-friendly hotels in Seoul.
When the guests book one of the “bark rooms”, pets may accompany their owners and share the ultimate hotel experience. Rooms are equipped with bathtubs and stairs near the beds, one especially designed for their “little guests”. Doggy drinks, snacks, and cute souvenirs can be found at the lobby.
Hotel Cappuccino shows that it really does care about the world. The E&G (Earn & Giveaway) box placed in each hotel room encourages guests to participate in the eco-friendly movement. Basic amenities are provided in dispensers for environment-friendly purpose, and if guests choose to not use additional amenities, these may be exchanged for a cup of coffee or donated.
Also, Hotel Cappuccino owns a clothing bin to collect old clothes for donation, since travelers often throw away worn out clothes.
Guests can also use the “angel elevator” or order an “angel menu” if they’re feeling generous and want to make a donation.
Not only does the hotel encourage guests to donate, it also makes donation from the costs saved by using dispensers, receiving slightly higher fees for bark rooms, and so on. Also, the eclectic collection of modern and vintage furniture one of the studio rooms on the 16th floor is perfectly posh. Nothing beats being stylish and eco-friendly at the same time !
Last but not least, Hotel Cappuccino not only cares about social values but also about having fun. For those who are planning to visit Seoul, an evening visit to Namsan Tower is probably already on the to-do list. While the expensive city view from the Namsan Tower is marvelous, the view is equally breathtaking from across the Han River.
Hotel Cappuccino, located at the center of Gangnam, presents its guests with one of the finest night sky viewing locations, the 17th floor rooftop bar and restaurant. The restaurant recently collaborated with the 2 Michelin star chef Jongguk Lee (이종국) and renewed its menu, so be sure to grab a bite to eat during the stay. Additionally, the rooftop terrace is perfect for small gatherings but also large enough to hold a standing party for up to 100 people.
The bar, Gintoneria, lives up to its name and flaunts the most diverse types of gins in Seoul. Here, guests can even create their own gin-based concoction !
Nothing sounds better than to wrap up a Seoul trip surrounded by city lights, rooftop ambiance, and a customized cocktail.
